To provide design support in the releasing of new customer orders by working closely with sales, R&D and manufacturing.
This role will include assisting designers and may also require validation of designs through FEA.
Assist with continuous improvements in design in order to reduce cost and/or improve functionality.
Review customer orders and determine new designs neededComplete new designs using SolidWorksCreation of 3D models and 2D prints per company standardsCompletion of tolerance analysis on each new designValidation of new designs as needed through hand calculations or analysisPrint detailing using GD&T when appropriateWork with vendors on developing any new tooling needed for new designsCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to reduce total cost of productionProviding engineering support as needed to designersSupport designers in new design developments to ensure robustness of designChecking of prints created by other designers or engineersSupporting production builds of new designsWorking with vendors on cost reduction ideasContribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to Company policy.
Maintain good attendance.
Follow Company policies and procedures.

Minimum of an Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent5 years of related work experience utilizing SolidWorks or equivalent based CAD software - extremely proficient / expert level Utilizing a PDM system for data management and workflowsExperience and understanding of designing sheet metal componentsGeneral understanding of GD&TBasic understanding of major aspects of manufacturing fabrication and assembly as it relates to Design for ManufacturinProficient in use of MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, OutlookKnowledge in OneNote is a plusGood interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with people in all levels within all functionsMust be open-minded, flexible easily adapt to a rapidly changing environmentExperiencePreferred5 year(s):
